| | Description | Essential Info
Infrared (IR) remote controls have limited range and generally only work in the same room as the audio/video (A/V) component it controls as line of site is needed for communication to occur. The IR to RF to IR Remote Control Range Extender Kit, uses an internal transmitter that converts your remote's IR signal into a radio frequency (RF) signal, giving you the ability to control your components up to 100 feet away, through walls, floors, doors and windows. Simply slide one of the rechargeable batteries into the transmitter and switch that out with a battery in your remote control; it works with remotes using AA or AAA batteries (AA sleeve adapter included). When the remote control is used, the IR signal is converted to RF and is sent to a small, AC-powered receiver (RF base station), which is placed facing the components you wish to control. The receiver then converts the signals back to IR and sends them to your components, all in a fraction of a second. Ideal for home theater setups that have components behind closed doors, you have the freedom to move throughout your home and control components that are out of sight. This device operates on a 433 MHz RF frequency; it is also available in a 418MHz RF Frequency. | |

Great Product for Uverse Sep 25, 2011

I purchased a Samsung 50" Plasma and my Uverse remote would no longer work due to the amount of ir waves emitted from the TV interfering with the remote ir waves. I purchased this unit after some research and found that the 418 mhz unit will work with Uverse cable boxes and so far it has worked like a charm.
Works for a little while May 21, 2012
By Rick This remote extender worked great for about two months, then stopped. once in awhile flicking the switch on the bottom will make it work again, but only for a short time. dont waste your money on this, it's junk.
Works great with AT&T U-Verse! May 02, 2012
By ErikwithakGOBLUE Awesome device! I think the most notable feature about this blaster is there is virtually no lag or delay. I had a Harmony 900, but could not stand the lag and lack of range so I opted to get this extender and a $20 URC WR7 universal remote. That combination works far better than the Harmony every did. The 418MHz one is the one you want if you ATT U-Verse and make sure the setting on the blaster is in the middle for U-Verse cable boxes. By the way, if you do notice any lag - just unplug that little emitter cable - I found better response not using that at all and just letting the blaster do all the work.
Wow, works great. Apr 29, 2012
By JJ Works great, I'm surprised. Why not 5 stars: If you have 2 tv's in nearby rooms, a second unit will result in the signal being sent to both. Also, if you don't have a set-up with one remote for everything (i.e. your universal doesn't work with your satellite box), you're stuck because the little battery replacement only comes with one 'AA'/'AAA' adapter set-up. Third, the device does come with one IR sending device on a cord, so if you have a stack of components, one of them can be separate, but all the others need to be in line-of site with the saucer device. Finally, not a complaint but a note, there is a microscopicly slight delay between he signal sent from the saucer and that of your remote... if you're tv, for example, is in line-of sight with the saucer, when you press the volume, for example, the saucer's signal can interfere with that of the remote. (You can cover the remote's ir sender to solve this, or better yet place the saucer so it is seen by your devices but not you're TV)
Remote Extender Apr 05, 2012

This Unit works like a charm, I am controlling a Cable box from my Bedroom, about 30' from the box, plus it's a Mobile Home with lots of metal. Very pleased with the operation, and have yet to change to the second battery, over a month now. Well worth the money, My Cable Box Remote was a pain in my a......!! had to point it directly at the box, and hope it changed the channel, with the Remote Extender I can point it at the roof and it changed the channels. I like it!!!Thanks Guy's Limeyde.
