Excellent optics for the price Mar 17, 2007
By Steve Siringer This scope is worth every penny, I was very concerned buying a "cheaper" spotting scope but after my first range session my nerves are at rest. It's very easy to see the .30 cal holes at 200 yards and light transmission and clarity are very adequate. This scope also comes with 2 carrying cases, a nice added bonus. When comparing this scope to my friends bushnell of the same power this one wins hands down, a definate purchase for someone on a budget and looking to get good quality for limited funds.

good spotting scope for the price Feb 24, 2007
By ewias For the price, this scope does the job and easily in the top tier within its class/costs. It is easy to handle and really light which makes it easy to hike with. To be honest, this scope is more capable than any scope we used in the USMC scout/sniper platoon I served in back in the early 90s. The cases are excellent. I would recommend a heavier tripod for added stability.

Great scope, great package at a great price Mar 11, 2009
By RS I bought this scope to zero in my AR-15 at about 100-yards. It worked well, and I can see my bullet holes up to about 150-yards. Beyond that, I can focus on my target, but struggled to count the number of bullet holes. This scope is great for the $109 price, especially with the extras you don't get with the more expensive brands. And it held up well against my friend's expensive $450 Leupold (that he got without a tripod or hard case). Unfortunately I needed something strong (good up to 300-yards), and returned this scope for the Barska Benchmark 25-125X88 for $15 more.
My advice, pick the magnification power that fits your needs and expectations. Then compare prices before comparing brands.

Barska Blackhawk 20-60 x 60 Spotting Scope May 03, 2007
By Luis M. Estopinan I am new to the sport of hunting/rifle shooting and recently purchased the Barska Blackhawk for the purpose of sighting/practicing with my rifles at the range. I have used the scope at a distance that exceeded 100 yards and the view was clear. In my opinion (though not an expert in this field) this product was worth every dollar. In addition, the scope comes in a very nice case.

simply amazing Oct 27, 2007
By Alan G. Jones i was hesitant to buy due to the apparent low price, most top end scopes are $500+
i hummed and hawed for months then decided to buy. this scope is amazing, great zoom function, clear lenses, nice carry bag, the hard sided case is nice too.
only thing for me is the tripod is small for birding, the provided tripod is good on a table or if you are lying down, i already had a full size tripod and the scope works great on it.
i use the mini tripd for my camera so it does not go unused.
use the scope for birding and it zooms in on birds hundreds of yard away.
a definite great buy for me!
